Alain COHEUR, Co-President of SSE International Forum (ESS-FI) Member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC); Director of European and International Affairs at the National Union of Socialist Mutual Health Funds (UNMS-Solidaris) (Belgium)
Alain Coheur studied at the School of Public Health and the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Liège. In 1991, he joined the National Union of Socialist Mutual Health Funds. From 1998 to 2002, he was Project Director at the International Association of Mutual Benefit Societies (AIM) and then became Director of European and International Affairs at UNMS-Solidaris. Since 2004, he is a member of the Bureau of the International Social Security Association (ISSA). In 2008, he was elected President of Social Economy Europe until 2015 and is currently Vice-President. From 2014 to 2019, he is a member of the European Commission's Expert Group on Social Entrepreneurship. Since 2015, he is a member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), spokesperson for the social economy category and President of the permanent study group on social economy enterprises. Since 2018, Director of the Institut Montparnasse, a mutualist think tank that studies the transformations of social economy enterprises, and in 2019 elected Vice-President. Since 2018, member of the Board CIRIEC (Belgian and international section). Since 2019, he co-chairs the SSE International Forum (SSE FI). |
