Marie-Pierre FAUCONNIER, Chief Executive Officer
of Sibelga (Belgium) Since 2018, Marie-Pierre Fauconnier is CEO at Sibelga, the distribution grid operator for electricity and gas in the Brussels-Capital Region. Born in 1969, Marie-Pierre FAUCONNIER holds a master's degree in Actuarial Science and in Applied Economics. She also has a degree in Environmental Management. From 1999 to 2002, she served as deputy Head of Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister. In 2002, she joined Elia, the Belgian electricity transmission system operator as advisor of the CEO in the field of strategy. In 2006, she became Head of the Directorate-General Energy of the Belgian Ministry of Economy. From 2009 to 2013, she was President of the Governing Board of the International Energy Agency and, from 2007 to 2013, President of BRUGEL, the Brussels’ Energy Regulator. In 2013, Marie-Pierre joined the Belgian Federal Commission for Electricity and Gas Regulation (CREG) as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and was also Vice President of the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER). As Chairwoman of the CREG, she represented Belgium at the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). |
