Philippe BANCE, President of the CIRIEC International Scientific Council; Professor at the Université des Antilles (France)
Philippe Bance is currently Professor at the Université des Antilles and President of CIRIEC's International Scientific Council since 2014. He has a long academic career: he was notably Administrator and Deputy Director of the CREAM laboratory (Centre de Recherche en Economie Appliquée à la Mondialisation), Member of the Scientific Council, the Academic Council and the Study Council of the University of Rouen. He also has extensive experience in the evaluation of the French university system. From 2010 to 2018, he was scientific advisor for the Agency for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (AERES) and then to the High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres). His main areas of research focus on services of general interest, public enterprises, the European economy, evaluation of public action, public goods and the commons. He published numerous scientific articles in academic journals, several dozen book chapters and edited 7 books. Since 2015, his main publications deal with contingent valuation, public enterprises and more diverse themes through the direction of works published at the PURH on education and general interest, the State as strategist in France, the internalisation of general interest missions; as well as on the provision of public goods and common goods at CIRIEC international. |
