Sébastien GAMBS, Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM); Holder of the Canada Research Chair in Privacy and Ethical Analysis of Massive Data (Canada)
Sébastien Gambs has held a Canada Research Chair in Privacy and Ethical Analysis of Massive Data since December 2017 and is professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Québec in Montréal (UQAM) since January 2016. Previously, he held a joint Research Chair on Information Systems Security between the University of Rennes 1 and Inria from September 2009 to December 2015. His main research theme is privacy protection in the digital world, with a particular focus on privacy issues in the context of geolocation. He is interested in solving long-term scientific issues such as the existing tensions between massive data analysis and privacy as well as ethical issues such as fairness, transparency and algorithmic accountability raised by personalized systems. |
